Fashion should be fun.  Sweat for the body you want,  choose the heels you walk in, and laugh as often as possible.  Make a statement.  Don't be average.  Be awesome!

10 Random Things You May Not Know About Me

10 Random Things You May Not Know About Me

If you’ve ever been on social media like Facebook or Instagram you’ve definitely seen ‘The List’. Ok ok it’s not that kind of list. Seriously! Lol. I like reading these ‘What You May Not Know About Me’ lists even if I don’t really know the person. So I figured why not write one myself. Maybe I’ll learn something new, you know - about myself!

  1. I grew up speaking Portuguese in my home when I was a baby. My parents immigrated from Portugal and it was the only language they knew. My sister and I would get scolded by my Dad if we tried to speak to each other in English. Years later he started speaking to us in English. Lol. I picked up some English words by watching Sesame Street and Mr. Rogers so needless to say I had a really hard time in kindergarten and HATED English class. I still do!

  2. I never played any sports when I was a kid. Shocker! I’m one of those weirdos that has always enjoyed going to the gym and working out. In 2012 I drove past a sign that said CROSSFIT and fell in love with it. I find working out therapeutic and it helps calm my anxiety. It really is what keeps me going.

  3. I used to read the morning announcements in high school. I loved hiding behind the mic and was really shy growing up. I’m not sure when I came out of my shell but here I am, LOUD and PROUD.

  4. I love the sun. I’m not a big fan of the snow. I’ve never skied or snow boarded. I hate being cold and rather be covered in sweat.

  5. I hate driving long distances. A two hour drive is the max for me. I rather be the passenger than the driver any day.

  6. I rarely read for enjoyment. I like short and concise stories. This is why I’d rather pick up a magazine. I will however read self help books or books on gratitude and self development.

  7. I’m the first person in my family to graduate from a four year university.

  8. The last movie I cried at was The Art Of Racing In The Rain. I was on a flight flying back from the east coast after Christmas and had been meaning to watch that movie. I cried like a baby that the person beside me offered me a tissue. Ugh.

  9. I’m obsessed with true crime stories. Don’t be surprised if you catch me on my couch on a Friday night watching Dateline or Forensic Files.

  10. My biggest role model is my Mom. I call her Maria or Mariazita. She’s always been my biggest supporter and we never go a week without talking. When I was kid we would always go shopping on Saturdays followed by a dinner date at McDonalds. Even though I live 3,000 miles away, if I’m in Connecticut on a Saturday we still go shopping and maintain our tradition at McDonalds. The only thing that has changed is instead of the Big Mac and fries I opt for a salad instead but I still steal some of her fries.

I’d love to hear from you. What were you surprised about? Leave you comments below.
